Faculties face off
On 3 March, mentors and first-year students will battle it out in the annual interfaculty tug-of-war match. Cheer on your faculty and see if anyone can topple the inaugural champs from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences to claim the shield. Faculty mentoring programs aren’t just for first years – they present great opportunities at all levels of our student community.

New module to improve educational integrity standards
Last year, the University reviewed its handling of academic misconduct and plagiarism in all faculties and made a number of changes to improve the academic standards that are crucial to ensuring you develop the skills and receive the education you need to thrive at university and beyond. This year, the University is rolling out a new, online module to help students develop an understanding of academic honesty, supplementing your classroom education.

All commencing students will be required to complete the Academic Honesty Education Module (AHEM1001) in Blackboard and we recommend you do this short module as early as possible so you’ll benefit when assignments start coming in. If you are a later year student, you can also complete the module to test and develop your understanding of academic honesty.

Many other improvements are being made across the University. Find out more here.
