'Little Hands' make a big difference
Occupational therapists help people overcome barriers to working and functioning independently. Our occupational therapy students recently put their skills to use, working with young children in western Sydney to develop basic skills needed for school life, like tying shoelaces and holding a pencil. Over 11 weeks, our students and alumni volunteered for the 'Little Hands' program, which assisted 180 kindergarten and Year One students across primary schools in Western Sydney, with groundbreaking results.
