Welcome to Australia's largest student accommodation community
Since opening in July, the Queen Mary Building has welcomed 800 students from Australia and around the world to create the largest self-contained student accommodation facility of its kind ever in Australia. Built in a former nurses' quarters right next door to main campus, the QMB was designed with affordability and vibrant student life in mind. Last week, an official opening celebrated the building's success and was attended by Vice-Chancellor Dr Michael Spence, Chancellor Belinda Hutchinson AM and NSW Health Minister Jillian Skinner.
Take our safer communities survey
Last week, students received an invitation to complete an important survey about sexual harassment and safety on campus. It was developed in collaboration with student groups and is the first of its kind at any Australian university. There's still one week left to have your say; the survey takes about 5-10 minutes to finish; is completely anonymous and questions are optional. Your feedback will help inform the University's response to the issue of sexual harassment and assault. Complete the survey now.

Taking pub talk to a new level
On 20 October, Sydney’s watering holes will be transformed into classrooms for one night as academics serve up some refreshing education. For the first time, we're bringing Raising the Bar from New York, Hong Kong and London to 20 bars across Sydney. Our speakers will discuss topics as broad as ground-breaking research in medicinal cannabinoids from Dr David Allsop to Professor Sahar Amer questioning why Muslim women wear the veil. Read Concrete Playground's preview.

Be a part of Raising the Bar! We're after some keen student volunteers to join our events team and be a part of this awesome event. To find out more and register your interest, email
