Dear Colleagues and Supporters
The International Steering Committee has advised that Sydney, Australia has won the rights to host the 7th IEEE International Conference on Smart Grid Communications in 2016.
We believe that this conference provides an important forum to researchers, engineers and practitioners that are today engaged in the challenging problem of upgrading the current world’s power delivery infrastructure.
On behalf of the Local Organising Committee, we want to thank all of you for the support that you’ve given. We have put together a highly competent and diverse organising team representing the key industry and research organisations in Australia in the field of smart grid research and development. These include the CSIRO and NICTA, and key universities in Australia and across the globe in Hong Kong, mainland China, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, France, USA, Canada, Korea and India. We have also obtained the support of the Federal government’s Department of Industry for this purpose.
The IEEE Communications Society (USA) is the technical and financial sponsor of the conference. The conference is expected to attract a network of 300 engineers and academics over three days and is estimated to be worth under $1 million to the local economy.
We look forward to welcoming you all to Sydney and making IEEE SmartGridComm 2016 an inspiring experience.
