Have you met the CEO team?

Each eNewsletter we are going to feature one of our own, this week it's Mita Das our Job Smart Program Manager:

What is your role, and how long you’ve been working with CEO?
Job Smart Program Manager. Job Smart is an employability skills building program for postgraduate business students and I’ve been in the role for 3 months.

What do you love about your job and working with the CEO? I love seeing students gain confidence as they go through the Job Smart program. Many of the participants are international students with English as a second language and find it hard to feel settled in Australia and make friends. It makes me really happy when I see students who used to be shy and quiet, blossoming into confident and competent young professionals ready for the workplace.

Top tips for interviews? Identify your top 3 unique selling points. You will be competing with thousands of students who have studied the same degree as you so you need to be able to stand out from the crowd. What 3 things have you done that will differentiate you from the other candidates being interviewed?

Tips for getting ahead at uni? Be brave! Get involved with as many different things as possible, not just related to study. There are lots of opportunities to do this at university. This will help you develop those unique selling points so that employers will remember you!
