Have you met the CEO team?

Each eNewsletter edition is going to feature one of our own, this week it's Grozzi our Careers Services Manger – Education...

---------------------------------------
Name:
 Grozdana Maric Manalo

Tell us about your background and how long you have been a part of the team?

I started my CEO journey back in 2010 as the Careers Information Officer, and I managed the student communications, marketing and promotions, and I ran the Careers Kiosk – a drop in service for resume and cover letter reviews, and general career queries.

I then moved into the Career Consultant role, which I absolutely love. I completed my Master of Learning and Development this year, which has enabled me to develop my counselling skills, and create a number of career education programs.

This year I’ll be taking on the Careers Services Manger – Education role, which covers all things career education, and focuses on ensuring that Business School students have the resources they need to be career ready.

Why do you love your job and working with the CEO:

- Providing guidance to students

- Meeting interesting people from industry and in the University

- Diversity – diversity of our students, diversity of work

- My colleagues! – the CEO team is supportive, collaborative, and passionate about supporting Business School students

- Innovation – we often try new ways of engaging with students and delivering content

- It’s never boring! There is always a new project to immerse yourself in

- Flexibility – working at the university allows you to have a great work life balance

- Seeing our students succeed

- Connections with our alumni

Skills for the future, what employability skills would you reccomend for students to focus on developing whilst studying?

- Communication

- Initiative

- Teamwork

- Analytical skills

- Enterprise Skills

- Problem solving

- Creative skills
