National Archaeology Week Tour
Australian archaeologists in Cyprus and the Nicholson Museum
Join us for a guided tour of our new exhibition, The sky and the sea: ancient Cypriot art, and a floor talk on Australian archaeologists in Cyprus, led by Dr Craig Barker.

This tour will explore the Nicholson Museum’s extraordinary collection of ancient Cypriot antiquities and the 80 year history of Australian archaeologists excavating on the island.  Dr Barker will discuss the University of Sydney’s 20 years of excavation of the Hellenistic-Roman theatre site at Nea Paphos, highlighting the ongoing research by Australians on the Mediterranean island. He will also demonstrate how you can get involved with the project.

About our speaker:
Dr Craig Barker is Manager, Education and Public Programs, Sydney University Museums, and co-director of the Australian archaeological excavations at the theatre site at Nea Paphos.
