As you may be aware, the University has been involved in ongoing negotiations with the unions regarding the proposed new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement for staff.

We can now let you know that the NTEU has agreed to support the University’s proposed Enterprise Agreement. This agreement will ensure University of Sydney staff remain the highest paid of any university in Australia and continue to enjoy the best working conditions in the sector.

Now that we’ve reached a mutually beneficial resolution with the NTEU, we hope to bring an end to the disruption to your learning experience. The NTEU has advised that the strike planned for three days of next week won’t take place and classes will go ahead as scheduled.

We appreciate your patience during the protracted negotiations.
