ARC Information Session : DECRA 2014
A briefing for all researchers intending to apply for an ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA 14 - 2013 for funding in 2014) will be held on Monday, 18 February 2013.
A briefing for all researchers intending to apply for a DECRA 14 (2013 for funding in 2014) will be held on:
  • Monday, 18 February 2013
  • Noon until 1:30 pm 
  • At Eastern Avenue Lecture Theatre (upstairs)
There is no need to RSVP.

The session will outline DECRA Scheme requirements, including ARC and University requirements, and provide a step by step guide to preparing your proposal.

Presentations will be made by:
  • Andrew Black, Director Research Development,
  • Professor Margaret Harris, Director of Research Development for Arts and Social Sciences,
  • Yamini Sandiran, Director Research Grants and Contracts
  • Professor Sebastien Perrier, member of the ARC College.
Note that this briefing is specifically for DE14 applicants.

ARC closing date for DECRA is 27 March 2013 and the internal closing date is 8 March 2013.

AusAID Government Partnerships for Development
Round One of the AusAID Government Partnerships for Development (GPFD) program is now open for Concept Proposals. Projects must focus on addressing poverty and assisting the economic development and welfare of the partner country.
Round One of the AusAID Government Partnerships for Development (GPFD) program is now open for Concept Proposals.

Proposals must focus on addressing poverty and assisting the economic development and welfare of the partner country. 

The GPFD program will fund a minimum total grant of $1million and a maximum of $4million. Projects must run for a minimum of one financial year and can run up to three years.

The closing date for Concept Proposals is 11.59pm AEDT on Tuesday 26 March 2013.  The internal University deadline is 5pm AEDT on Monday 18 March 2013

The Australia and Pacific Science Foundation is seeking applications for its project grants for biological research in Australia.
The Australia and Pacific Science Foundation is seeking applications for its project grants for biological research in Australia.

These support projects in the biological or biophysical sciences, excluding medical research.

The Project Grants are awarded to institutions within Australia or other countries of the South West Pacific region for activities within those countries or within the region.

Grants are worth up to $15,000 per year over a maximum of three years.

Cancer Council Research NSW project grants
The Cancer Council New South Wales invites applications for its project grants which support research at both fundamental and clinical levels into the causes, prevention or treatment of cancer.
The Cancer Council New South Wales invites applications for its project grants which support research at both fundamental and clinical levels into the causes, prevention or treatment of cancer.

Researchers working in NSW institutions are eligible to apply.

Applicants are invited to apply for funding from NHMRC in addition to Cancer Council NSW, or from Cancer Council NSW only.

All applications must be made through the NHMRC website. Support will be offered for a period of up to three years, and will be up to AU$120,000 per year.

Closing date: Tuesday, 19 March, 2013.

Fellowship: Diabetes Research Network
The Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Research Network (CRN) Mentored Clinical Researcher Fellowship supports clinician researchers at the early stage of their career.
The Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Research Network (CRN) Mentored Clinical Researcher Fellowship supports clinician researchers at the early stage of their career.

The Mentored Clinical Researcher Fellowship offers $30,000 per year for two years, to enable clinician researchers to establish a research career in the field of type 1 diabetes.

The Fellowship is available to applicants pursuing clinical research consistent with the objectives of the CRN.

Applications close on Friday 1st March 2013.
