Researchers from the Faculty of Health Sciences are seeking child participants for a home-delivered, play-based intervention program that aims to assist children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to develop their social interactions.
The pilot program is seeking children aged 6 to 11 years, with a confirmed diagnosis of ADHD. Children can participate in the program if they have conditions commonly occurring with ADHD (eg learning disorders), provided ADHD is the primary diagnosis. Children will not be able to participate if they have other major developmental disorders (eg intellectual disability or cerebral palsy). Participants will be required to have functional English skills to participate. Participation in the program is free and parents will be provided with parking vouchers. Parents who are interested in allowing their children to participate can contact Dr Reinie Cordier on 9351 9216 or Sarah Wilkes-Gillan on 0402 402 359.

Would you like to know more about how your voice works? Have you ever had the chance to watch your vocal folds working? Would you like to know how your voice compares to others?Would you like to know more about how your voice works? Have you ever had the chance to watch your vocal folds working? We are seeking two healthy males aged 29 to 32, two males aged 48 to 53, and one female aged 44 to 46 to participate in a voice assessment at the University of Sydney’s state-of-the-art voice laboratory. The assessment will include imaging of your vocal folds, and you will receive a full comprehensive voice report and DVD of your vocal folds vibrating. Your results will form part of a study investigating the voices of radio presenters in comparison to the voices of healthy adults with no vocal performance experience. To be eligible you must have no professional (paid) experience as a vocal performer and no history of voice disorders in the last year. You also need to be a native speaker of English with an Australian accent. If you fit the above criteria and would like to participate in this study, please email Samantha Warhurst or Tricia McCabe.
