By volunteering just a few hours per week to one of the Compass volunteer programs, you can make a valuable contribution to the lives and education of primary and high school students.

Apply now and receive full training, transport reimbursement and the chance to gain valuable experience and meet new people. 

Volunteering opportunities include:

Word Up: literacy-tutoring for low-progress readers in primary and high school.

Classroom activity facilitators: interactive activities for students who’ve attended theatre, history and science excursions at the University.

Numeracy tutoring: support high school students struggling with basic mathematics.

Homework club: tutoring school students who need extra support with schoolwork.

Join us on Saturday 2 March for an exciting schedule of informal talks, lectures and exhibitions.

• At 1pm come to the Art Gallery to hear artist Michelle Nikou in conversation with Ann Stephen, held in conjunction with our current exhibition Atelier Paris: The Power Studio.
• At 2pm the Nicholson Museum presents a lecture by Sydney Uni's own Paul Roche,  Pliny’s Italy: a first century love affair in life and letters.
• From 10am to 4pm at the Macleay Museum, it's your last chance to see The Meaning of Life: celebrating 50 years of biological sciences at the University of Sydney.
