Students win seats at Obama's inauguration
US President Barack Obama wasn't the only winner at the US presidential election: three University of Sydney students will fly to Washington DC in January to see Obama's 2013 inauguration, thanks to a competition run by the US Studies Centre.

A win for 'philosopher of the wonder'
Professor Rick Benitez from the Department of Philosophy has been honoured with a $25,000 national award for teaching excellence at a ceremony in Parliament House, Canberra. Find out more

New centre for Southeast Asia research
The Sydney Southeast Asia Centre will be officially opened by the Foreign Minister Bob Carr this Friday, 23 November. The centre is helping to bring together more than 200 academics, honoraries and research students from across the University to increase our understanding of the region.
